I just LOVE Fall, so I've spent time compiling a complete guide of all the Fall Festivals, events, activities, and fun options for families with little ones in South Jersey. Please note, this blog post was updated as of 9/4/24. You should always call, check websites or social pages, to confirm all the information is up-to-date prior to your visit!

SEPTEMBER

The Red Barn Farm Sunflower & Fall Fest*

Starts Sun. 9/1 and runs through Sun. Nov. 3, open Fridays 3-10pm, Saturdays 10am-10pm, and Sundays 10am-dark 

Details: Take a hayride out to our sunflower fields for the perfect photo memories. Every guest gets a sunflower to take home! Get lost in nearly 10 acres of our GIANT CORN MAZE, and this year’s maze is more challenging than our previous! When you finally escape, head over to our fairgrounds and bounce around on our Jumbo Air Pillow, a fun experience for kids of all ages. There are other fun games at the fairgrounds, like trying your hand at lassoing our bull targets!

Dalton Farms Tri State Sunflower Festival*

Starts Thurs. Sept 5 and runs through Fri. Oct 27, open 10am-7pm daily in September, and 10am-6pm daily in October (CLOSED TUESDAYS)

Details: The Tri State Sunflower Festival at Dalton Farms is a vibrant celebration of the beauty and joy of sunflowers. Enjoy strolling through fields of blooming sunflowers, participate in U-Pick Zinnias and sunflowers, and experience a variety of fun attractions and events for the whole family.

Pumpkin Pick & Sip at Laurita Winery

Starts Thurs. Sept 5 and runs every Thursday through Thurs. Oct 31 (times at 5pm, 5:45pm, and 6:30pm)

Details: Enjoy a wagon ride out to our own homegrown pumpkin patch loaded with several varieties and sized pumpkins. Pick a pumpkin of your choice, return to the winery and enjoy a special decorating class with our artists in residence. You can choose from several designs to either paint or decoupage your pumpkin masterpiece. During the allotted two hour design and decorate time, the adults will enjoy their glass of wine and a personal sized cheese plate, all included. The children will receive an iced slushie and a fresh soft baked pretzel, all included. PS. Laurita Winery has a great playground too!

Fall Harvest Festival Johnson's Locust Hall Farm* (NEW)

Details: Join us at Johnson’s Locust Hall Farm to experience the best of fall harvest! Enjoy pick-your-own apples, pumpkins, sunflowers, and more. Our Park & Pick option allows you to visit every stop along our farm drive at your own pace. Apple Festival at Mood's Farm Market

Sat. Sept 7, 10am-4pm

Details: The Donut Eating Contests begin at 1:00. "I can eat a whole bag of donuts!" How many times have you said that? Now is your chance to prove it, while people cheer you on! The winner receives a cash prize and a bag of donuts. There is one adult contest and two kids contests. The Jazztones will play jazz music from 10:00am-12:30pm. The One Way Express will be playing their unique blend of bluegrass, gospel, and country music from 1:30pm - 4:00pm. Today is the first day for apple hayrides. Rides are from 10:00am to 4:00pm every twenty minutes. Today is the grand opening of the maze. Face painting and activities for kids all day long. Hot dogs, hamburgers, Apple Cider Donuts, Apple Cider Donut Sundaes, and more! Moods offers apple and pumpkin picking hayrides nearly daily during September and October.

Fall at Mood's Farm Market

Starts Sat. Sept 7 and runs through Sat. Oct 26, see times below (also open on Columbus Day from 11am-4pm)

Details: Apple picking hayrides are available in September. They include a ride to the apple orchard, picking a 3 pound bag of apples (red delicious and golden delicious), a drink of apple cider, and an apple cider donut. Rides are available  on Friday afternoons in September (at 1, 2, 3, and 4pm) after the Apple Festival. Rides are also available on Saturdays in September from 11:00am - 4:00pm, every twenty minutes. Starting in October, apples are replaced with pumpkins with the same hours and times.

Haddon Township Fall Festival

Get Your Tractor On: Tapas, Taps, and Tractors

Sat. Sept 14,11am-4pm

Details: Friends Village, a senior living community in Woodstown, NJ, will host Tapas, Taps & Tractors, featuring local small bites and brews, as well as a tractor show. John Deere Tractors, located on Route 40, will be showcasing modern and antique tractors. Taste samples of local wine and beer from participating local wineries and breweries, including Farmers & Bankers Brewery and Wagonhouse Winery. Additional food and beverages will be available for purchase. Enjoy live music and demonstrations by the Salem Community College Glass Blowing School and pick your own sunflowers. The event is free and open to the greater Woodstown community and will be held rain or shine.

Argos Farm Fall Festival*

Medford Oktoberfest

Details: Considered “Medford’s Biggest Party of the Year,” the event is organized and promoted by the Medford Business Association. Parking and admission are free, and the event is open to all ages. This year’s event will feature a massive beer tent and garden sponsored by Taunton Forge Liquors, serving well-known national and international brands and Oktoberfest brews, plus local crafts from all of the Medford breweries. Over a dozen food vendors will be on site offering a variety of options, including traditional German food favorites. There will be kid's activities and more!

Details: We invite you to come and enjoy the farm in the fall! Come for a hayride with the family to Hilda's house. The kids get a surprise from Hilda's cauldron and get a small pumpkin. The kids can enjoy the fall fun field before and after the hayride. They can take a ride on the cow train. Before you go, you can stop in our market and buy a pumpkin to carve later on in the evening and some of our scratch-made baked goods to enjoy all weekend long!

Autumn with the Animals at Cedar Run

Details: 2024 Corn Maze is all about JIMMY Coombs and his favorite things! This is our biggest maze yet - 8 ACRES!!! MAZE opens at 6:30 pm! Last entrance to the maze will be 8:30 pm. Please be sure to bring a FLASHLIGHT! It's going to be dark out there! Food and Pumpkins will be available for sale at the event. Maze will take 30-45 minutes to complete. Details: Everyone is welcome! There will be a basket raffle, pumpkin painting, a hay ride, food trucks, desserts, face painting, music, craft vendors, firetruck and ambulance tours, and other rescues with adoptable pets! It’s going to be an amazing day! Our events are always a blast! Come on out, meet all our rescued residents, tour our 43 acre sanctuary, and go home with some Freedom Farm Animal Rescue merch! Although we are an animal sanctuary we ask you to please leave your fur-babies at home.

Fall Fun at Duffield's Farm

Details: Duffield's is open daily for apple and pumpkin picking in the fall, but on select Saturdays in October they have special fall fun which adds a corn maze, barnyard express, barn bounce, pony rides, face painting, live music, characters and more which is not normally offered the other days of the week!

Annual Blackwood Pumpkin Festival

Barnyard Bash at Coombs Barnyard

Starts Sun. Oct. 6 and runs every Sunday until Sun. Oct 27 (1-4pm)

Details: This year's Barnyard Bash will be an open house style! Come to the Barnyard on Sundays in October between the hours of 1p-4 pm for a hayride, pumpkin picking (from a REAL patch), barrel train rides, visit with our Barnyard Animals and our 2024 CORN MAZE!! It will take about 2 hours to complete all the activities. Cost is $20/child and includes all activities (wagon ride, animal visits, corn maze. barrel train rides) AND pumpkin with decorating kit.
