Perkins Center for the Arts Mini Musicians Class: Join us for an interactive music and movement class for young children and their caregivers. Our nationally recognized curriculum, based on the approaches by Edwin E. Gordon and Dr. John Feierabend, develops the musical potential of the very young child and guides caregivers in recognizing and nurturing their musical inclinations.

Our Mini Musicians teachers foster a hands-on approach to exploring young children’s innate sense for chanting, singing and movement as their first steps in musical development. This approach encourages children in discovering the body as the first primary instrument and empowers their caregivers to carry on music making at home. Over the next 10 weeks, we aim to grow “tuneful, beatful, and artful” families.

First Notes Music Class: First Notes is the perfect introduction to music of babies and toddlers.  Music Classes are taught by a team of talented musicians who specialize in teaching children. Kids’ MusicRound of Collingswood & Cherry Hill: A music and movement class for infants, toddlers and preschoolers that includes activities designed to promote musical learning across ages. In our signature mixed-age class, infants, toddlers, and preschoolers along with their parents or caregivers join together as a musical community. Activities include playing rhythm instruments, having fun with finger plays, and singing and dancing to music of different meters and tonalities. A mixed-age setting allows children the freedom to develop basic skills like singing in tune and keeping an accurate beat at their own pace. Since there is no set age for these skills to be acquired, these classes provide a non-performance opportunity for musical exploration that the whole family can enjoy.
