South Jersey Montessori & Me Playgroup
Montessori & Me Playgroup: While creating this website and attending numerous activities and classes with my son, I realized there was a real gap for structured playgroups where toddlers could interact with children their age, engage in developmentally-appropriate activities, play with age-appropriate toys... and give space for their caregivers to learn together how to support their child's learning at home at the age and stage of childhood they're in. So I started offering just that... a Parent/Toddler Playgroup with a Montessori focus where we do all of those things.
Program Information
This program is for families with littles 12 months thru 2.5 years old looking for community, to feel supported, ask questions, meet other like-minded families, and are curious about Montessori.
Our playgroup is a 90 minute session once a week. During that time, the children get access to beautiful Montessori materials for the child’s whole development while caregivers receive invaluable parent education regarding toddler development. Each week I will guide you through a different topic of concentration ranging from freedoms within limits, how to observe your child, supporting independence at home, and much more.

- A copy of “The Montessori Toddler” by Simone Davies
- A folder for each week’s goals + handouts and journal
- Access to a Montessori trained educator
- Social time for your child
- Meet other parents and build a support community through shared experiences.
Winter 2024 Session Information:
- Dates: The week of February 19, 2024-through the week of March 25, 2024 (6 weeks total).
- Days offered: Playgroups will be offered Wednesdays from 4:00-5:30pm or Thursdays from 9:30-11:00am, please choose one session only. (The Wednesday group starts Wed. 2/21 and the Thursday group starts Thurs. 2/22)
- Session Cost: $175 per family. If a family has twins, the tuition for the 2nd child will be reduced to $150 given the combined materials for the one caregiver/parent who will attend.
- Location: The Village, 915 Haddon Ave, Collingswood, NJ 08108
- Each registered child is to be accompanied by only one adult/caregiver.
- It is requested that siblings/other children do not attend class.
- The session fee is due in full upon registration. Given the nature of the program, refunds will not be offered. However, you may have the option to drop into the other weekly playgroup should you need to miss a week.

Background on me: Before I decided to stay home with my son, I was a teacher, then Assistant Principal, and most recently a Director of Operations at an education non-profit. Over the last year, I've begun Montessori educator trainings and completed a two week bootcamp on how to run a Montessori-inspired playgroup with Simone Davies, the author of the Montessori Baby and Montessori Toddler. You absolutely do not need to practice Montessori to attend the playgroups, but a general interest in learning more will help!
